                                     Machine Learning Accelerated Discrete Element Modeling of Granular Flows

Data-driven machine learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have been used in Chemical Engineering research, which demonstrated superior predictive capability compared to conventional modeling methods, especially for extremely complex chemical processes. ML and AI also make it promising for real-time process simulation and control, which could greatly enhance production efficiency. Our group has applied ML and AI for the development of mathematical models, acceleration of numerical simulations, and optimize chemical processes.
